When your Beagle locks eyes with you, it’s not random — it’s communication. Beagles are incredibly expressive dogs, and staring is one of their ways of connecting with their humans. Depending on the situation, your Beagle’s stare could mean several different things.

Affection and bonding: A soft, relaxed gaze often means your Beagle simply loves you and enjoys your presence. Eye contact releases oxytocin, the “love hormone,” in both of you.
